Historiografía sobre la iglesia en Andalucía (Edad Moderna)
Resumen
Resumen: De espectacular puede calificarse el progreso de la historiografía sobre la Iglesia en los últimos cincuenta años. Si antes dominaba lo anecdótico, lo laudatorio junto a lo furibundo, y en general visiones maniqueas e interesadas, hoy la Historia de la Iglesia, y en particular en la Edad Moderna, ofrece un panorama rico y esperanzador.
De esta realidad se ha beneficiado el conocimiento de la Iglesia andaluza en la época moderna, un ámbito de trabajo bien asentado donde se da la mano lo institucional y lo cultural, la economía y las mentalidades, con un predominio de lo social. Desde esta óptica el artículo plantea una revisión historiográfica, especialmente incidente en los trabajos aparecidos en los últimos veinticinco años, relativos a campos tan variados como la peculiaridad de las iglesias del reino de Granada, la geografía eclesiástica andaluza, el problema morisco y las relaciones con el poder civil, la realidad cambiante del clero secular y del clero regular, una aproximación a los bases económicas del clero, fiestas, cofradías y religiosidad popular, la labor asistencial de origen eclesiástico, la defensa de la ortodoxia (con especial atención a la Inquisición y a los tribunales eclesiásticos) y un apunte sobre continuidad y cambio a finales del Antiguo Régimen.
En todos estos apartados se presenta un balance historiográfico, un resumen de las conclusiones principales aportadas por la bibliografía existente y un esbozo de las carencias observadas y de los campos que requieren un mayor empeño investigador.
Abstract: The progress of the historiography on the Church in the last fifty years can be qualified as spectacular. If before it was dominated by the anecdotal thing, the laudatory writing or the furious point of view, and in general by manichean and interested visions, today the History of the Church, and specially in the Early Modern Age, offers us a rich and encouraging panorama.
The knowledge of the Andalusian Church in the Modern Age has grown with this reality. It´s an area based on the institutional design and the cultural process, the economy and the mentalities, with a predominance of the social aspects. From this optics the article raises a historiographical review, specially around the works appeared in the last twenty-five years, relative to several fields, such as the peculiarity of the churches of the kingdom of Granada, the ecclesiastical Andalusian geography, the Moorish problem and the relations with the civil power, the changeable reality of the secular clergy and the regular clergy, an approximation to their economic bases, festivities and confraternities, popular religiosity, the welfare labor of ecclesiastical world, the defense of the orthodoxy (with special attention to the Inquisition and to the ecclesiastical courts) and a note about continuity and change at the end of the Early Modern Age.
In all these paragraphs one presents a historiograhical balance, a summary with the main conclusions contributed by the bibliography and a sketch of the lacks observed in the fields that need a major investigative determination.
De esta realidad se ha beneficiado el conocimiento de la Iglesia andaluza en la época moderna, un ámbito de trabajo bien asentado donde se da la mano lo institucional y lo cultural, la economía y las mentalidades, con un predominio de lo social. Desde esta óptica el artículo plantea una revisión historiográfica, especialmente incidente en los trabajos aparecidos en los últimos veinticinco años, relativos a campos tan variados como la peculiaridad de las iglesias del reino de Granada, la geografía eclesiástica andaluza, el problema morisco y las relaciones con el poder civil, la realidad cambiante del clero secular y del clero regular, una aproximación a los bases económicas del clero, fiestas, cofradías y religiosidad popular, la labor asistencial de origen eclesiástico, la defensa de la ortodoxia (con especial atención a la Inquisición y a los tribunales eclesiásticos) y un apunte sobre continuidad y cambio a finales del Antiguo Régimen.
