María Mancini: estrategias y alianzas de una mujer aislada en la corte de Carlos II
Resumen
Se trata de una reflexión sobre la finalidad de la escritura femenina, a través de la relectura de las memorias de Maria Mancini escritas en la corte madrileña, a finales del siglo XVII. Inundadas de personajes y situaciones personales, estas memorias trasladan también otra inquietud en el contexto del ascenso de Juan José de Austria al gobierno de la Monarquía: la de precisar una posición política que interesa tanto a los intereses particulares de quien escribe, como a la proyección de la familia Colonna.
Abstract: The analysis of Marie Manicinis Memories shows a text loaded with intentionality; an exercise of responsability and personal strategy made by a lady of the court. It is not just account of her life or about the justification of her decisions. Throughout the text a more transcendental and immediate objective is revealed: to gain the support of the influential personages of the court of Madrid. For this purpose, Marie defines and declares her own political position by accommodating her to the changing circunmstances after the arrival of Juan José de Austria to the power; she stands next to the new protagonists of the political and social scene, as a means to assert the particular interests and preserve those of the her lineage.
