Anson, Wall y el papel del Lago español en el enfrentamiento colonial hispano-británico (1740-1762)
Resumen
RESUMEN: A lo largo de todo el s. XVIII se vive entre España e Inglaterra un evidente enfrentamiento colonial, sea abierto o larvado. El papel del Océano Pacífico es testimonial hasta la aparición del comodoro George Anson y su expedición circunnavegatoria, en 1742-43. Los cambios en la estrategia británica intentarán ser compensados por otro personaje importante: el teniente general español Ricardo Wall, primero como embajador en Inglaterra y luego como ministro de estado.

ABSTRACT: Colonial confrontation between Spain and England became evident all over the Eighteenth Century. Within this context, the role of Pacific Ocean remained testimonial until the expedition pf commodore George Anson in 1742-43. Changes in the strategy of British Navy were challenged by an important Spanish politician, lieutenant general Richard Wall, as ambassador in England and after as State minister.
