La creación editorial de un testimonio. La Florida francesa de Theodor De Bry (1591)
Resumen
Propongo analizar las estrategias editoriales desplegadas por Theodor De Bry (1528-1598) en el segundo tomo de su colección Grand Voyages o Americae (1591) con el fin de presentar su contenido como una representación creíble de Florida. Consideraré para ello los paratextos integrados al volumen, en los que el editor construyó el andamiaje conceptual y descriptivo que sustentó la veracidad del libro. Con ello espero contribuir, primero, al estudio de las formas de producción y evaluación de conocimiento relativo al Nuevo Mundo; y segundo, a la comprensión de los vínculos establecidos entre arte, proceso editorial y conocimiento empírico en el contexto de una modernidad temprana mundializada.
